In a hard won cup game, the MOM voting reflected the all round team performance with no fewer than 7 players receiving votes.
All with 1 vote were Luke, pulling off a game winning penalty save, Will Carlile having a great game despite a mega hangover, Jindy with two superb free kick assists, and Duracell Charlie with a goal and customary energetic display.
Harry picked up 2 votes for his 2 goals and general attacking prowess, Aleks 3 votes for a commanding defensive performance and goal line clearance.
But this weeks winner with 4 votes is el capitan Dunc, weighing in with a goal, some solid defending and the final winning penalty.
Special mention also to Bill, grabbing his first (and probably last) ever Albion goal with a finely taken penalty.
…and so to Henri Leconte.
Charlie picked up 1 vote for making himself a bed from stools in the pub.
Nick Evans got 2 votes for nearly stepping on a dog, and then saying “Sorry mate!”
The runaway winner this week however was Will Carlile, woken up by phone calls at 10 o’clock wondering where he was, Will was seemingly unaware himself, unable to pinpoint exactly where in Streatham he was, incoherently mumbling he would get a taxi. Arriving just in the nick of time, he somehow powered through the hangover, playing the full 120 minutes, and picking up a man of the match vote along the way. Well done sir!
