Albion manager Jade Barker has denied rampant age fraud at the club after the real age of one player was questioned.
The club was forced to issue the denial after rumours began to circulate that Albion forward Harry Carlile was actually in his early 20s. However, in a statement issued by the club, Barker maintained that Carlile was actually 43 years old. The allegations come after recent claims that Lazio’s 17 year old Cameroonian wonder-kid was actually 41, a charge dismissed by the Italian club.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with this website Barker said: “I’ve been accused of a lot of things in my time, but never signing a player under 30. I like my players on the mature side – just like my women.â€
“I’ll not deny he looks young, and that normally you’d expect a man of his years to be able to actually grow a beard. But I can tell you the lad’s definitely in his 40s.â€
“Admittedly, I was a bit worried when he said he couldn’t come to training because it was past his bedtime, but it’s the early nights that keep him looking so fresh faced.â€
