“Keep the sheets clean fellas”
After a couple of solid weeks for defenders in the MOM stakes, I’ve had several cheeky swine’s question the voting – for the record I have all votes saved for every game.
Surprise, surprise with the season’s first clean sheet came another good week for defenders. In joint third place with 2 votes, were the Will’s (C&S). In second place and someone who must surely have run Nick E close for the highest amount of “Cruyff Turn’s†in match was Joey “Clapham†with 3 votes.
However, marking a superb debut and a first clean sheet between the sticks, this week’s MOM with 4 votes was Walter.
There were various one-off Henri Leconte votes this week, Joey “Clapham†for turning up in a white ensemble (including white plimsolls) despite the weather being on the harsh side and the pitches looking like a mud bath.
Jade also registered (as if we wouldn’t have guessed) for asking us to put the nets up on the wrong pitch and for also going completely blank during the pre-match team talk (there must have been a blip in the Matrix).
Second place with 2 votes, and although we are not usually in the habit of naming “bad†moments in the Henri Leconte this is ok as he voted for himself – was Jonny for an attempted chip when through on goal.
The winner however was the opposition/substitute who after coming on as a second half substitute was immediately sent back to the side-lines for being an unregistered player
