Albion were denied victory by a last gasp equaliser by AFC Balham as the two teams fought out a 3 – 3 draw.
Albion took the lead when Ralph glanced in a long throw from Rich. However, the teams were soon on equal terms when a defensive error allowed a Balham player to shoot home from 8 yards. Worse was to come when Balham took a 2 – 1 lead when a seemingly innocuous shot found its way into the net. However, Albion were on level terms at half time when Rich sprung the offside trap and was able to slot the ball into the corner of the net.
Albion took the lead in the second half when Simon ran onto a through ball and, after holding off the defender, lobbed the keeper to make it 3 – 2. Albion continued to create good chances, but Balham continued to press their cause. With only minutes to go Balham broke down the left. The forwards shot appeared to be going wide, but an onrushing forward was able to turn the ball into the net from 2 yards.
