Barker: Abandoned stats index
Jade Barker has been forced to abandon plans to be involved in a player ratings website.
The “Barker index” would have provided performance data on all players hours after Southern Sunday Football League games. Barker has postponed plans to be involved in the project after club chairman Roger Soper intervened.
A spokesman for the company behind the project said: “Barker was only ever involved to establish statistical criteria for the index.”
Amongst the data it was believed was to be collected was:
- how many times Vilem Palac shouted “switch it” during 90 minutes
- the number of players wearing gloves, tights and base layers
- the number of minutes before Dan Roberts is booked for dissent
- the total length of bandaging used by Myles Desenberg and Rich Pemberton
- the number of calories consumed by Duncan Twigg prior to kick-off
- the number of squirrels killed by Jindy Mann’s shots
