This weekend, Albion manager, Jade Barker’s summer recruitment drive took an unexpected twist. Whilst Barker was scouting at the Fulham v West Brom Premiership clash, discussions took place over the possible loan transfer of England International, Darren Bent.
Astonishingly, Barker has decided against signing the Fulham striker, stating, “He’s a 20/30 goal a season striker and it’s not what we’re looking forâ€.
When asked to elaborate, Barker offered the following answer, “Before the season started, I filled in a goal scoring chart in my “Little Princess Diaryâ€. Looking at recent records, I allowed 10 columns to complete this season’s goal entries. This is all completed and I can’t possibly change it at this late stageâ€.
Upon hearing the news of the potential new signing, semi-retired Albion veteran Dave McPhee immediately announced himself “fit and ready†to play this season.  McPhee commented, “I heard we’re signing some bent guy up front. I’m fit, ready and willing! I can make the football too.â€
