This week’s voting provided us with another clear first, second and third. Although with 1 vote for third, I’m embarrassed but not modest enough not to claim it – cheers Nick! In second place was “Buff†Ralph with 2 votes, who according to voting debutant and new goalie Walter had an “impressive displayâ€.
Although I’m not sure this is the same as when Dave McPhee refers to Ralph’s “impressive displayâ€.
Winner this week and now 2 week’s running was Nick “Rainman†Milne, with 6 votes and a goal courtesy of a sublime chip worthy of Mustapha Hadji in his pomp. (We did notice mate, we were just more interested in the tackle leading up to the goal!)
In a game where the referee sent off the wrong Machico player and also got the final score incorrect, it’s surprising we didn’t see more votes this way. There was one for the referee’s sending off and also Joe noted the ref as being “pretty fitâ€. Must have been sporting a nice shade of Mahogany?
However, in time for this weekend’s Oscars, the overall winners were ADFC Machico collectively for collectively rolling around the floor screaming in agony including at times when they’d just head the ball.
Also, rolling around the floor and screaming orgasmically after scoring a goal/winning a throw in/winning a corner/hearing the referee blow the whistle/at half time whilst eating oranges/when the wind changed direction and when a passing car beeped its horn.
There were also separate votes for the Ginger Prince describing the showers as “livelyâ€, although a visiting “Bubbles†from the USA did give him a prior warning and also a suspiciously bagged white substance.
Will was also mentioned again, this with Alek’s, for relieving himself during the gaffer’s half time team talk (pissing, just pissing, don’t be rude).
