ALBION BACK TO WINNING WAYS

Day: Overhead kick.

Albion got back to winning ways with a 4 – 1 league win over Battersea Park Rangers.

The visiting Albion got off to a great start taking an early lead when Barny Day headed home a long Rich Pemberton throw-in from close range. The lead didn’t last long when Battersea equalised with an opportunistic goal after Albion lost possession deep in their own half. However, Albion were able to take a 2 – 1 lead into half when Day, up from the back again, scored with a spectacular overhead kick. Yes, you read that correctly.

The game was finely balanced at half time. Albion had created the better clear cut chances, but Battersea had shown throughout the half that they were a danger coming forward. Pemberton secured the crucial next goal with a cool finish rounding defenders and keeper, before substitute Don Thomas made it four after good work by the forwards closing down the opposition’s back four. Final score 4 – 1.
