Following a hattrick and an all-round quality performance, you would have expected Harry to walk Man of the Match. And he did. However, Simon did push him close with 4 votes to Harry’s 7.

MOM – Harry ‘scores when he wants’ Carlile.

Henri Leconte was wide open this week with a variety of entries.

We’ll start with those receiving a solitary vote. Nominations included, Harry with the following pearl of wisdom, “are we at home?”, this is whilst sat in the changing rooms on Clapham Common and the game being a Surrey Cup game. Nick Milne got a vote for trying to claim the own goal as his own and Jindy’s free kick’s also got a vote, for (wait for it!) … them being “excellent”.

The “away support” also got a vote, which could include anything from them describing us as “shit” whilst being 5 nil down, Harry as a “diver”, Aleks as a “whinger” and a particularly fat ginger man shouted “your shit, you can only header and tackle” to me. Forgive me if I’m wrong but I’d consider these to be quite important for a centre back.

In the spirit of the rugby World Cup, Jim came second with 2 votes for his rugby tackle and leg grab which earned him a yellow.

The dubious “winner” this week, was the opposition lino that would have been better spent keeping his right arm raised throughout the match, rather than putting up and down every 5 minutes. Dodgy decisions included him giving an offside when we we’re in our own half, raising his flag whilst looking the other way and also disallowing a perfectly good goal just for the hell of it (we we’re 4 nil up at this stage).
