Barker: Twitter ban follows bar on players internet use<\/p><\/div>\n

Following the lead of a number of prominent managers, Albion gaffer, Jade Barker, has banned his players from airing their views via Twitter. The move follows criticism of an unnamed referee on a Twitter feed belonging to glossy locked attacker, Vilem Palac. The message, which included an image of the official dressed in a Southbank shirt, said “And they call him the best ref in Southern Sunday innit. Fackin’ sausage munching joke that is”. The Tweet provoked a flurry of responses amongst his three followers with one poster, named ‘Lucy’, responding “Can you get some milk on your way home?”.<\/p>\n

The flaxen haired rocker, later apologised claiming it was only a joke. Barker, however, was not amused. “I’m shocked” said the Albion manager. “First of all, I didn’t know he could type or use a computer. Secondly, I’m amazed that anyone reads his tweets.” A thorough audit by the club revealed a number of Albiones using their Twitter feeds to update fans on their latest antics, with some potentially revealing and embarrassing revelations:<\/p>\n

@BigStew: “3rd gym session today. Man, I’m pumped. Quick hit of creatine and some of that stuff from Nevada, and back on it!”<\/p>\n

@RichPemberton: “Hello ladies…”<\/p>\n

@JamesBourne: “Red Fox, Operation Havana is a go. I repeat, go.”<\/p>\n

@LordBarnaby: “MOJITO! MOJITO! MOJITO!”<\/p>\n

@JonRoberts: “Quality dump this morning. At least 8 out of 10.”<\/p>\n

Barker has now introduced a blanket ban with a fine for any players breaching the rules. “If someone wants to say anything to anyone, they can say it to me first. And I’ll tell him to shut up, fool.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
