FIRST ROUND EXIT FOR ALBION

Leslie: Notched

Albion slumped to a first round exit from the Marcus Lipton Cup with a 5-1 defeat to Westminster Wanderers.

A lively Wanderers side posed problems throughout the match. However, during the first half hour Albion looked as capable of causing problems of their own. But Albion were unable to convert any of the chances whilst Westminster took there’s and moved into a 3-0 half time lead.

An improved second half showing from Albion saw the home side again create a number of openings. However, Westminster continued to be ruthless in front of goal and were further aided by a disputed penalty. Steve Leslie was able to head home from close range to ensure that Albion got on the score sheet.
